Ceramic Tint vs Regular Tint: Which Is Better In 2022?

Window tinting gives you a variety of benefits, but it’s important to get it right the first time. Many  people get their windows tinted to improve the look of their vehicle, to have more privacy, and to be  protected from the heat or the sun. Tinting can be highly effective at keeping indoor temperatures  lower so that you’re more comfortable and save energy. When deciding, many people look at ceramic tint vs regular tint. Which is better? Each has its own benefits and  drawbacks. When you’re familiar with each, you can choose the best one for your specific needs.

Ceramic Tint

One of the main reasons so many people get a ceramic tint is that it’s so effective at blocking both UV  rays and heat. It also doesn’t interfere with the technology you use such as GPS. When you’re  considering ceramic tint vs regular tint, you may ask- what is ceramic tint?

A ceramic tint is a panel that has a coating of ceramic. This type of time uses nano-ceramic particles in  their construction. These panels are extremely durable, and they can even make it harder to break into  your car through the windows because of their strength. They are resistant to scratches and much more durable than a regular tint. It is a superior way to absorb heat so that the vehicle stays cooler inside. The  technology in this type of tint is often better for the technology in your car because it doesn’t have any  metal in it. It won’t interfere with your radio, Wi-Fi, and other tech that you use.

If you’re looking for the best tint for blocking UV rays from the sun, a ceramic tint is what you’re looking  for. It can block as much as 99% of UV rays to protect your skin and eyes from the damage it can do.  And, you don’t have to have the very darkest ceramic tint in order to get that protection. You can get a  light tint and still get this benefit, and your state may require you to have the lighter tint.

Pros of Ceramic Tinting

The major benefits are the absorption of heat, the blockage of UV rays, and the deflection of sun glare.  It is also a new technology and is the latest innovation in vehicle tinting. The lack of metal makes them a  poor conductor of heat, so you won’t get burned if you touch it. This type of tint is also structurally  stable and can reduce heat in your vehicle by as much as 85%. It’s perfect for saving energy as you use  your car because the air-conditioning doesn’t have to be used as much.

Cons of Ceramic Tinting

The only real downside of this type is that it costs more than getting a regular tint. This may make it  harder for some customers on a tight budget to get the tinting they want.

Regular Tint

When you’re deciding between ceramic tint vs regular tint, you need to know all of the many features  and benefits of getting a regular tint. A regular tint is generally a dyed tint that comes on sheets of  polyester. Each of these sheets is dyed to a specific shade that can be anywhere from very light to  extremely dark. This tint can also come in various colors. This type of tint can block the sun somewhat,  but it doesn’t block out UV rays. They can get through a regular tint panel and get into the car. When  this happens, the temperature will get higher, and the UV rays can do damage to your eyes and skin.

A regular tint is the most basic type that is available on the market. The panels that have a regular tint  are highly popular for their low price and their range of shades available. These are often marked with a  signifier such as VLT 25% or another number. When you see VLT, this is an acronym for visible light  transmission. This tells you how much sunlight can get through that film. This will also tell you how dark

it will look when it’s applied to your windows. For instance, if your regular tint panel is marked as VLT  70%, it will let most light through and will look very light. If you find a regular tint that is marked as VLT  5%, this will be extremely dark and let very little light in.

It may seem like the darker the panel is, the more protection you‘ll get from it. However, this isn’t the  case. With a regular tint, infrared radiation is not blocked, and this can be highly damaging as well as  making the car heat up. These sheets also tend to fade quickly and become discolored. While ceramic  tinting is protected from these problems, a regular tint is not. Many people also don’t like that their car  can heat up so much when they have a dark tint on the window.

Pros of Regular Tint

They are less expensive than getting a ceramic tint. They come in a wide array of colors and depths of  shading. Many people find them easy to use and don’t mind replacing them because of their low cost. It  can make it darker inside the car and can absorb a little heat. They provide great privacy for those who  want that while they’re driving.

Cons of Regular Tint

They aren’t very durable and often have to be replaced because of discoloration and fading. They don’t  help much with the heat that comes in through the windows from the sun. It isn’t darker tint that  protects vehicles from heat- it’s the technology used in that tint. With the basic tech of regular tint,  vehicles can heat up no matter how dark the windows are. They are also more fragile than a ceramic  tint, and they can be scratched and chipped easily.

Consider all of the pros and cons of each type of window tint before you make your final decision. The  one you choose should take into account what you’re looking for in a tint and what you want it to do for  you.
